Halkirk Ladies get tough draw at Highland Having made the Highland Halkirk got the worst possible draw with both West and North Winners Kilmaurs and Lower Banff in their group. However a spirited display gave the following results:- Avondale 1 - 1 Halkirk Halkirk 0 - 2 Kilmaurs Lower Banff 2 - 0 Halkirk Halkirk 1 - 1 Strathearn A very big well done to Fiona Coghill, Louise Thoms, Louise Wylie Davies, Kate MacNicol, Isobel Swanson and Carolyn Coghill. As well as coach Catherine Murray!

The District event was held on Saturday 15 May at Sibster Farm, Wick and

District Agri Skills The District Agri Skills was held on Sunday 9 May 2010 at Broynach Farm, by kind Permission of the Anderson Family, judges for the events were Gordy Donn of GS Donn Agricultural Repairs and George Williamson, Dixonfield, The Health and Safety Quiz was compiled by Andy Nicolson and the Identification of diseases in crop was compiled by Willie Budge. 2nd Equal - Halkirk B, John Anderson, Brian Sinclair, Robert Sutherland, 3rd Halkirk A, Shaun Macleod, Alan Gow, Andrew Mowat. Events on the day
included, Roping a Load, Quad Bike Course, Construction of a garden gate and
changing a haybob tyne. Halkirk will now go forward to represent Caithness at
the North Area Competition on Sunday 16 May at the Black Isle Show Ground.
Budge claims Club Member of Year The first results of the new Young farmer year were announced at the club AGM held in the Ross Institute on 3 March 2010. Based on participation and success in competitions ranging from club to National during 2009 and the start of 2010. Junior Craig Budge came out on top in the club competition. After scooping best Junior male he also won the best overall award as well. Full list of winners is shown below:-
